 Hi girls!

This valentine to the women dismissed, disrespected, disenfranchised and disregarded throughout history, literature and politics! You can read about these women in my blog.

Launch Date:

Pricing: $12 - $16

HENRIETA LACKS

($12)

She’s a blood red jelly with purple flakes that shift red for an amazing vampy shift, and a brilliant red sparkle!

Henrietta Lacks was an African-American woman whose cancer cells are the source of the HeLa cell line, one of the most important cell lines in medical research. The HeLa (Her initials) cell line continues to be a source of invaluable medical data even today and has made the medical industry billions of dollars, not to mention made the careers of many scientists and Medical professionals . She was never told nor asked for permission, and (I’m sure you’ve guessed) neither she nor her family has ever seen a penny in compensation. With knowledge of the cell line's genetic provenance becoming public, both its use for medical research and for commercial purposes continues to raise concerns about privacy and patients' rights. Countless people have her to thank for their lives, their accomplishments, and advancements with never so much as a thank you sent her way. She is a Woman Done Wrong! We honor, thank you, and are grateful to you!

SPC. VANESSA GUILLEN

($12)

She is a thermal in the cool/cold state she is dark olive green, and a khaki greenish/brown warm/hot. I added camel colored flakes to complete the camo look and gold flakes to honor her gold star family.

SPC. Vanessa Guillen was a 20 year old US army soldier who was murdered  and dismembered by a fellow soldier who doesn’t deserve mention.

Before her murder Guillén had told her family that she was being sexually harassed by a still unnamed sergeant at Fort Hood, and that complaints by other female soldiers made against him had been dismissed. Her mother advised her to report him anyways, but Guillén responded that "she could put a stop to it herself," then she went missing.

After a lackluster investigation her angry mother went public and told reporters she did not trust the U.S. Army's handling of the investigation. She believed the family was "being kept in the dark" because few details had been released regarding Guillén's disappearance. On June 13, 2020, hundreds of people assembled at the gates of Fort Hood to protest the lack of work and information on the case. Eventually, her body was found June 30 2020 and her case closed when the unmentionable killed himself.

For her and for all women who put their lives on the line to serve our country we honor and thank you!

BENAZIR BHUTTO

($16)

She is a peach like gold I tried to match her commemorative coin and a strong aqua shift (reminiscent of a famous jewelry box blue) and her headscarf in a photo I found. She also shifts gold, green, turquoise and cerulean, and a bit of violet.

Benazir Bhutto was a Pakistani politician who served as Prime Minister Of Pakistan twice. She was the first woman to head a democratic government in a Muslim majority nation, and ideologically a liberal and a secularist.

There were many Pakistanis who despised her, disliking her popularity, her ties to Western nations, and her modernizing agenda. Extremist opposed her because of their belief female leaders are un-Islamic, and her participation in politics compromised her modesty. Conservatives claimed she was failing her duty to focus on having children.

On the 27 of December in 2007 Benazir Bhutto spoke at a rally of the Pakistan Peoples Party. She was waving at supporters through her vehicles sunroof when two assassins fired on her. A suicide bomber detonating next to her vehicle immediately following killing 23 supporters along with her. This was the second attempt on her life. Although assassinated she continues to be voice for millions of oppressed women! They took her life but her message and her life continues to inspire. We honor and thank her and every woman who fights for the liberation of our sex around the world!

SIMONE VEIL

($14)

Is a creamy navy blue with a golden blue to green magnetic pigment running through. She wore a lot of navy and I added a golden blue magnetic to it to represent her amazing eyes!

Simone Veil a holocaust survivor who was separated from her family and was held primarily at Auschwitz. She was only spared the gas chamber because she lied about her age making herself old enough for the hard labor camp. After four years at the age of 17 she was saved, her sister being the only other survivor in her family, only to lose her seven years later in a car accident.

After the camps Simone returned to France and attended law school. She wanted to be a part of government and make sure no one suffered as she and her family did.

Simone Veil was a French magistrate and stateswoman who served as Health Minister and president of the European Parliament, the first woman to hold that office. she is best remembered for advancing women’s legal rights in France, in particular for the 1975 law that legalized abortion, today known as Loi Veil. Survival of the Holocaust, fighter of women rights and the fifth woman in History to be buried in the Panthéon, her coffin met with thunderous applause the whole route. Her absence is still felt throughout France and one of the most beloved in their history. She is a true inspiration and example of how the female spirit can be forged in fire and lead with strength and kindness! We honor and thank her!

Merci Beaucoup!!

STORME DeLARVERIE

($12)

She has a grey micro holographic glitter base to represent a dark sky with blue and purple shifting iridescent flakes for a little cloud and lightning magic.

The Stonewall Rebellion, took place when a lesbian woman by the name of Stormé DeLarverie cause the spark that started a revolution! On that night the police went to a gay bar to ruff up some gays. (It was a common occurrence) on this evening Stormé, fought back! She was brought through the crowd, fought with at least four police, swearing and shouting that her handcuffs were too tight. After about ten minutes she was hit on the head with a baton, and was battered and bleeding but continued to fight back. Finally she looked at the crowd and shouted, "Why don't you guys do something?" After an officer picked her up and ruffly tossed her into the wagon. It was at that moment that the scene became electric! Despite her place in history she is rarely given credit, and only mentioned by the people who are still alive and there that night, and the lesbian community refusing to let anyone forget her contribution! Stormé is a woman done wrong, but in this valentines we honor and thank you!

STACEY ABRAMS

($16)

Is a bit of a fuchsia base that shifts green, blue, purple, and gold. She has lavender micro holographic glitter and iridescent flakes that shift pink, green, blue, and purple.

Stacey Abrams is a former house representative from Georgia who ran for governor against a dishonorable man who cheated his way into office. He was the Secretary of State at the time and despite the fact that he over saw the election, (and many people including the president of the United States told him it was a conflict of interest) he refused to step down! Instead he played tricks like, canceling a debate scheduled seven weeks earlier and blamed Abrams. Gerrymandering and trying to keep the votes of people of color from being counted.  Two days before the election, Kemp's office announced that it was investigating possible cyber crimes against Abrams team, it turned out that the alleged cybercrime was a planned security test! Do we need to discuss how between 2012 and 2018, Kemp's office cancelled over 1.4 million voter registrations with nearly 700,000 cancellations in 2017 alone. Election and law experts said that this "may represent the largest mass disenfranchisement in US history. This isn’t even a quarter of what he did! Well she lost, how could anyone win under these circumstances? In her time she continues to work as a voting rights activist, and one of the strongest voices in the Democratic Party and there’s whispers she may run for governor again. She is also directly responsible for handing Biden Harris Georgia in this last election, but come morning many publications didn’t even mentioned her instead congratulating Biden for turning the state. It was Ms Abrams that turned that state! She is a woman done wrong time and time again and we honor and thank her for her selfless work!!

NOOR INAYAT KHAN

($12)

She is a thermal cool she is a greyish lavender and warm pale pink. For interest I added gold and peach flakes that shift pink green, blue, and purple.

Noor Inayat Khan, was a woman of royal blood who wanted to do her part in the war effort! She worked as radio operator in Paris during its occupation in WW2. She was a quite and demure and a phenomenal spy. Her work ethic was incredible and even put herself in grave danger refusing to leave for safety until replacements for her positions were found and installed. Noor was eventually caught and in prisoned, but she never gave up any information despite brutal torturing. She made constant escape attempts, and eventually they classified this young, shy, demure, woman of royal blood, "extremely dangerous."( I love that detail!) after several years of torture and interrogations she was eventually sent for execution having never revealed her secrets. Her one last defiant act was her last word "liberté!" We honor and thank the brave and incredibly strong Princess Noor Inayat Khan!
